AMARAS SPACE
Breastfeeding and postnatal support, baby classes
What Amaras Space says
Stay and play groups for mums and their babies. Age 0-24 months - Becoming a parent is a huge transition. Most changes are amazing and deliver such emotions we couldn't have imagined, Love, Joy and Wonderment. Other emotions can be less comfortable, Sadness, Anger and Guilt. Life with a baby can feel like an emotional rollercoaster, and that is ok. Working with these emotions can require the right tools and support. Baby sensory - A course to engage your babies senses and motor development. Each week we will look at a different sense, via creative play, tummy time, visual stimulation and music. Then there is time for you to spend time with a drink and a treat getting to know each other as a group, making friends with parents that are going through the same celebrations, worries and concerns. I am on hand to provide support around feeding, parenting and any general concerns you may have. Baby Massage - Baby Massage course Suitable from 6 weeks until mobile. Enjoy 40 mins of relaxing massage with your baby. All classes are baby-led, so you are encouraged to feed, comfort and change your baby as and when needed. The sessions and relaxed and calm. Breastfeeding support and antenatal education - I am a breastfeeding counsellor trained by NCT, and I have also spent 12 months working with the infant feeding team in North Manchester. I can support you and your family with all aspects of feeding. Breastfeeding, formula feeding, expressing, mixed feeding, stopping breastfeeding and introducing solids. Using person-centred counselling skills, listening to you without judgement and offering you evidenced-based, unbiased information to support you to make informed decisions about feeding your baby. Introducing solids workshops - introduction to introducing solids when your baby is ready, guidelines, signs of readiness, first foods, moving on. Dads club - baby class for dads - once a month
About
Hi, I’m Keri. Having my 2 children was amazing. It was also my biggest challenge. I suffered with PND and really struggled to accept any support or even that anything was wrong. I continued (just) to work full time with 2 small children for many years until the opportunity arose to take redundancy. I have since retrained as a Breastfeeding Counsellor, Postnatal Practitioner and Baby Massage Practitioner (BA) Hons- Birth and Beyond Educator with the NCT. I am passionate about supporting families to adapt to their new lives and create a community of support around them.
