MINDFULNESS FOR LEARNING

The wellbeing centre for educators and families

What Mindfulness for learning says

We have the opportunity to be mindful in everything we do. Mental Health and well being are the new buzz words but what can we do at school and at home to ensure it transcends from spoken word to action. Whether you are a parent, carer, work in a school or are a young person making your way in the world, the importance of being mindful when growing or helping to grow somebody is key. Mindfulness for learning aims to bring all things mental health and well being to one place in a supported and connected environment. There is something for everyone here and all are welcome!

About

I am the Founder of Mindfulness for learning - the wellbeing centre for educators and families. I created Mindfulness for learning to provide a platform for sharing expertise, ideas and conversations about mindful learning and development at home and school.

My passion and commitment to enhance and support the lives of teachers, parents and children began after I recognised the decline in educator and family mental health and wellbeing during my years teaching in Inner London Primary Schools.

I have over a decade of teaching experience, half of which included the role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead. In this role I worked closely with parents and educators to initiate and develop strategies and actions to better the wellbeing and mental health of school communities.

I have trained in practising mindfulness with both the Mindfulness in Schools Project and the Oxford Mindfulness Centre where I developed a personal mindfulness practice and discovered ways in which I could teach others, especially children, to apply mindfulness to their daily routines.

I have trained in various topical areas such as Safeguarding, Mental Health First Aid, Child Bereavement, Managing Behaviour, Kids Yoga, Keeping Children Safe Online and Online Safety with CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) alongside many other areas.
